Senior Editor of Ebony Magazine at Sullivan High School

Ms. Adrienne Samuels Gibbs, senior editor of Ebony Magazine is the featured speaker for the African American History Month Assembly.

Most recently, Ms. Adrienne Samuels Gibbs penned Ebony's November 2009 cover story on Diddy. She also penned the May 2009 cover on actresses Taraji Henson and Viola Davis in addition to the December 2008 cover story on Tyra Banks' lessons in frugality. She also reported and wrote the June 2008 cover story on Chris Brown in addition to the juicy vignettes on the other artists that represent the best of Black music today.

 Ms. Samuels Gibbs edits arts & entertainment, culture, careers and health/fitness. She comes up with the vast majority of her story ideas, and her goal is to be as well-sourced as possible. She is particularly proud of being the primary idea woman behind Ebony's 2007 Culture of Disrespect special section (plus, she wrote the cover story.)

She was also recently featured on The Tyra Banks Show. Why? Because Ms. Banks was inspired to do a show based off of an essay she wrote for the February 2008 issue of Ebony. That essay asked two writers: Do Light-Skinned Blacks have an advantage? The topic has since sparked off thousands of blog posts.
